Diamonds falling from the sky

Diamond Rain likely naturally occurs on Jupiter and Saturn. This conclusion came scientists studying the possibility of oceans full of these precious stones. According to the researchers on the surfaces of the two largest planets of the solar system may be as high as 10 million tonnes of diamonds!

Coal, which are formed on the gas planets diamonds present as a component of the methane. This gas represents only a fraction of a percent of the atmosphere of Jupiter and Saturn, so initially the researchers did not expect that there could create diamonds. However, recent analysis indicates something else entirely.
Astrophysicists have noticed that the electrical discharges that occur on Jupiter and Saturn, may form diamond particles, which then fall towards the nucleus of the planets. The lower they are the greater the effect on not pressure, which makes the particles clump into larger groups, forming a rock. Some of them are so big that you can talk as much as the whole mountain. Most, however, probably has no more than 10 cm in diameter, and scientists have identified the phenomenon of the formation of these particles as a diamond rain.
